Since 2017 he is active in developing VDES R-Mode at IALA DTEC WG3, ITU WP5B and IMO NCSR 13. He led the development of IALA Guideline G1158 on VDES R-Mode. Ronald organized IEEE workshops in the past at international conferences, such as IEEE ICC (ANLN) or IEEE PIMRC (APLEC).
