Roberto Opromolla

University of Naples “Federico II”

Prof. Roberto Opromolla is an Assistant Professor at the University of Naples “Federico II” since 2019, where he teaches Laboratory of Onboard Systems, Space Flight Dynamics, and Spacecraft Dynamics and Control, within the Aerospace Engineering BSc and MSc programs. His research deals with autonomous aerospace systems, focusing on Guidance, Navigation, and Control for spacecraft proximity operations, Space Surveillance and Tracking applications, and multi-sensor-based detection and tracking of Unmanned Aerial Vehicles. He coordinated multiple projects, funded by public/private entities, with a specific focus on the development of innovative algorithmic solutions for spacecraft relative navigation using electro-optical sensors. To this date, he is co-author of more than 150 papers published by high impact factor journals and presented at international conferences.
