Cillian O’Driscoll

Cillian O’Driscoll received a Master’s degree in Cryptography in 2002 and a PhD in GNSS signal processing in 2007 both from University College Cork (UCC), Ireland. He spent 4 years as a Senior Researcher at the Position, Location and Navigation (PLAN) group at the University of Calgary before joining the Joint Research Centre (JRC) of the European Commission in 2011. In 2014 he returned to Ireland, working as a research fellow in the Department of Electrical and Electronic Engineering, UCC until 2017. Since then Dr O’Driscoll has been working as an independent consultant specialising in all aspects of signal processing for PNT, during which time he has worked with many clients across industry in Europe and North America and both the European Commission and European Space Agency. Dr O’Driscoll has been a lecturer at the ESA/JRC Summer School on GNSS since 2022, giving classes on GNSS Authentication and Jamming Mitigation.
